Ch. 05, 06, & 07 CG Illustrations Added!

Hi all! I was finally able to get the art for the missing CGs/illustrations for Premium! Since it costs to hire another person, I have to wait a bit on releasing the mobile versions, but since I can update Itch.io myself, I decided to give you all early access! The caveat is that you'll also be beta testers for me a bit...It was a simple addition, and since I'm busy between other projects, I didn't do too much testing because I am a perfectionist and know that if I did, I will wait another week to get it out.

If you guys encounter any issues or other weirdness, please let me know here, so I can fix it before it gets out to other platforms. Otherwise, this will be the last addition to Premium, concluding what I promised.

I am considering releasing a POV, but considering the backlash I got for charging for Premium, I've been a bit gunshy about adding extra content. However, with this unplanned content, it just isn't financially feasible for me to add new content other than what was promised without charging a bit. What do you guys think about it?

P.S. I'm looking into finally adding a gallery option because I apparently forgot about it until I was like, man it sure would be nice to look at the CGs in the game without having to replay it, and then remembered that literally exists as a common game feature LOL.

Thank you so much for the update! If you decide to add more PoV from other characters I'll totally support you and it's completely undertandable that you need to charge for it, even more with the virus going on, not everything can be free and it is extra content, each person decides if they want to spend more on it. I'm planning on buying Four's PoV as soon as I can save up some money.

The only bug I found so far is when you choose the option "What do your augs do?" in chapter 5 while talking with Three, the character sprites don't dissapear and also... there's two Seven, it looks as if she has a twin lol (not sure if anyone else had the same issue)

Go for it, I know money is a problem for many but people can't hold you accountable for promises in which the circumstances around them, burned down awhile ago, myself included. You have done your best to work around all of the arising problems and money is needed for that. Downsides of capitalism lol. I don't mind paying extra for extra content to be honest, as long as the original TTEOTS (if you continue it later) storyline falls within what was already charged.  Which, you have been doing the entire time so that won't be a problem.

Continue doing you and take your time. People forget stories like this take years normally. Books take years to make and those don't include visuals like TTEOTS does. One of my favorite video games was in development for 10 years, including a console change, a director change, and a storyline change. That didn't all happen instantly and neither will the changes to TTEOTS. I hope you can return to this in time but until then, take care of yourself and continue to grow as an artist and a person! We will wait! ^-^

Thank you so much. I know you've been around for quite awhile and seen such circumstances as you so eloquently put it, burn down 😓 It's been a rough road, but I would like to continue TTEOTS someday. There's so much potential and the art is already there and is something I'm really pleased with to work with.

I was wondering if you could elaborate "the original TTEOTS storyline falls within what was already charged?" I definitely want to make sure I continue to be candid and clear going forward, so I want to hear and understand what fans of my stories are thinking.

Yeah, I've been around since this was a BTS-related game, and while that is what intrigued me, I stayed because I loved the story (and I'm a major sucker for cyberpunk XD).

To answer your question, the main story line essentially. Pretending everything went according to plan, the complete story line you had set up for TTEOTS. So the Prologues and chapters fit that, while, in my opinion, the POV (like Four's) are extras and outside of the OG. Whatever was slated to be the tale of the original novel including the little premium conversations, should stay within what was originally charged, if it was premium. I like to think of it in the video game sense. Technically speaking TTEOTS can be played without knowing Four's POV, it is completely unnecessary to the original novel as it is not an essential plot point. Four's POV however, is a wonderful expansion on what happened, and how Four behaves AKA his character. Therefore, Four's POV, in my opinion is the DLC to the TTEOTS game (literally and figuratively lol). I didn't mind paying extra for it because it was outside TTEOTS but I think future fundamental plot points shouldn't be behind a paywall. Ah, I hope I explained it well. I am terrible at articulating my thoughts more often than not so I hope I got my thoughts across.

Ah, I understand exactly what you're saying, no worries. I thought that's what you meant but I wanted to be sure before responding to that.

Well, unfortunately that much I can't do. The game, when crowdfunded, was designed to be 7 chapters because it was more of a "let's see how this goes", kind of like TV series get funded for a season or two upfront, and then if they do well, they get funded for further seasons. The idea internally was "If they like it, we'll see about continuing the story in a sequel". You can view that if you want to, here

The team no longer exists, so I call myself just working on finishing what I started to the best of my current ability. As it looks right now,  it'd be impossible to continue making games without a pay wall without either a massive crowdfunding campaign, or maybe some kind of magical investor come down from the sky.  The only other option is the more traditional method of funding it through a smaller campaign, or funding it myself somehow in the future, and then charging for it going forward, to recoup my costs.

My living expenses aside,  adding new art and continued programming for 4 platforms is expensive. I just wanted to be upfront that there's unfortunately no way I can afford to continue the game's main story itself for the foreseeable future, without charging something. If people can't accept that, it's understandable, but those are the facts as it stands now.

That’s okay too and I understand that as well. Perhaps I’m overstepping here, but I don’t think it’s necessary to have it on so many platforms especially if it’s causing issues. I mean, plenty of mainstream video games are either console or computer and not both. Sometimes even console games are exclusive to one console! They may add additional devices later but many do start out on one device first. I also think having a set price isn’t a bad idea. This is a produce and rarely are products free. I know fanfiction, fan art and whatnot can be/is free but a lot of that is also a hobby and not a complete job. Even some of those end up becoming “real” books for profit (looking at you Fifty Shades of Grey).

My point is, don’t be afraid experiment! It’s hardly fair for people to act like an up-and-coming artist of any kind will perform like a pro. You’re learning how all of this works, honestly I still don’t know how much of these things work as it is, so props to you. Just do what you can when you feel ready for it. Honesty is the best policy and people can honestly say “things can’t continue as they are” and be allowed to change. Just take care of yourself!

Thanks for the feedback and for understanding. Well, TTEOTS has been on several platforms for 2 years now, so I wouldn't want to remove it from fans, but it's not unusual to diversify how many places you offer a game. It also brings in more funding.

The biggest challenge with that is when I did constant updates. That's when it wasn't really feasible. In the future, if created, TTEOTS' sequel will probably just come out all at once on multiple platforms, with the exception of pre-order beta access on PC.

Frankly, I think you should go for it. The novel is of superb quality, the story and the art and music. It’s an excellent game and I was happy paying for premium and would be happy paying for extra content and future chapters. It’s great, and you’re great, and you should be paid for your labor and passion.

Wow, what a lovely comment, thank you 💙 🥺
